After releasing the single “7th Seed” featuring Rockie Fresh, the Chicago native officially drops his EP titled The Care Package. Weighing in at a total of 13 tracks, the artist formerly known as TeeJay delivers the EP in the form of a kill streak as he completely destroys each beat given to him. Whether he produced the track himself or received the instrumentals from producers such as Mozart Beats, Penacho, Avxp and others, he makes sure to leave the tracks meatless with just the carcass to show for. Soule brings five 5 features to the table on 5 of the 13 tracks, with the big feature from his fellow Chi-Town native Rockie Fresh (7th Seed) as we mentioned before, and also calls up Will Akogu (In Ur City), Mac Tha Knife (In Ur City, 2 On), OGT (Boost) and Rick Barnes (PRBLM SLVR) to help out Soule with the bars. A few of my favorite tracks from the tape are the intro “Rainbow Road” which I believe contains a sample from the old school game Super Mario Brothers, “7th Seed”, “Signal” and the Oks K produced “The L!fe”. I remember first hearing of the artist back in my high school days with a mixtape titled Second Time Around (The College Days) and to hear the improvement from the artist five years later is really dope. He may have changed his name to Soule, but the artist has always had bars to show and prove and has yet to stop grinding, which we give him respect for. “I wrote, recorded and mixed the entire tape in my bedroom over the past 6 months. This is my debut project as Soule (I used to go by @TheRealTeeJay) and it feels amazing to have more control than ever over my craft. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it” says the artist when describing the making of the EP. If you don’t believe us when we say this project rides, then you have to take a listen for yourself and you can do that down below, so press play and ride out to The Care Package EP by Soule.
