North Carolina’s Dom Savant unites artists from coast to coast in order to create a collaboration of music that he calls The Syndicate 3. The media producer brings forth a mixtape showcasing talents from the streets of New York to the icy mountains of Alaska and back down to the desserts of Arizona and the hills California to the swamps of Florida up to the valleys of Ohio and Missouri then back out East to Virginia and North Carolina. Savant gives each artist another outlet to represent their different cultural backgrounds and sounds as he gives HipHop fans something to celebrate with a new project that he says is “a sonic journey like no other”.
Weighing in at 14 tracks, the project is backed by the single “Alaska to New York” performed by Classical the Great and Jay Cartier in which Savant says that the track is “a masterclass in 90’s lyricism set against a backdrop of a Griselda-inspired beat”. After the first listen we can confirm that this record is nothing short of dope like what was being sold in the 90’s. With rhymes like “Up against the ropes/and Imma treat it like I’m Cashious Clay/sneaker boxing till I grab the safe to put the cash away/when things are going good or going bad/still you have to pray/trust in something when you can’t see it/is how you master faith” to “On the run back then/but now the flow on the run/sun has set by the night/that’s why I’m thankful for my sunrise/play it how I see it/never second chance with one time”, the duo of Cartier and Classical show why the track was the lead single and has been called electrifying. “Alaska to New York” also sees an official music video that accompanies the single and mixtape, which you can watch below.
A name we are used to writing about here on Be Known is Sacramento’s very own, Showtime Ramon, who makes an appearance on the hard hitting track “Chris Webber”. Showtime does what he is known to do and he does it very well yet again as he contributes more bars of lyricism to the project, keeping the fire lit. “Shorty clean me up/send her home looking like a mess/Ima a rare breed/I look different from the rest/Max Steel with extensions I ain’t taking less/broke the attribute caps 100 overall/clippin’ competition on point like John Wall/elite gem spitter/I’m flawless bitch I’m fucking raw/got the whole game on lock just like her pretty jaw” spits the MC who continues to sale what he makes in his room for big cheddar, and that’s bars.
If you like what you have read so far then there is a good chance you’ll like what you hear when you take The Syndicate 3 for a spin. Dom Savant knew exactly the type of bomb he was creating behind the HipHop scene, prepping and waiting for the right time to serve up his dish upon music heads around the globe, giving them a taste of his perfected recipe. It’s time to push play on the project that features the line up of artists like Luvxantxna, Lil NZA, Kuatro Ka$h, CJ The Artist, Westtendway, ForeverJabron, 4KPhil, FatBoyJonesy, Showtime Ramon, Du$a Dane, Marty Big Star, SincereFrom34′, FrescoFrom34′ Jay Cartier, Classical The Great, Fenix and Andrew Kelly.
A physical copy of Syndicate 3 is available for free pickup at Hippo Records in both Winston-Salem and Greensboro, North Carolina. Only 10 are in existence so be sure to grab one for yourself, if they aren’t already gone.
