With his third album MEMO in constant rotation here at Be Known and with listeners abroad, Kota The Friend delivers the official visuals for “Empty Cup” and “Avery’s Interlude”. Track five was the first song to get a matching video while track number eight, “Avery’s Interlude”, was the second to see the light of day in visual form. Both videos find Kota by himself living life on his solo trip through out the West Coast. “Avery’s Interlude” shows the artist outside of his cabin in Mount Shasta, CA, while “Empty Cup” seems like it was shot in Lake Tahoe, CA, an hour or so from where we are currently located in Reno, NV. Both videos show off stellar views while Kota keeps the editing down to a minimum, per usual, as the artist doesn’t feel the need to add crazy effects or transitions to his art. These videos show Kota in a vulnerable state as he performs his records from his heart and shows off the real person he is, a simple person trying to find happiness while getting feelings off his chest. That is what I receive from the records and visuals, you might see it differently so hit play on both and show some love. Don’t forget to stream MEMO which is out now on all streaming platforms. Be Known.
