“Marrakesh” is a fresh visual offering from the instrumentalย album Kingdom of the Gold Tooth Nubians, a beat tape choke-full of quality grooves to transverseย any cityscape from corner to corner.ย On “Marrakesh”, Eye Traveler takes traditional Middle Eastern and African melodies & rhythms and gives it that hip hop touch.ย Visually, Eye Traveler tapped animator Misfit Sleep to use an animation style that was in line withย his production method; layering, chopping, and rearranging images in a collage style much like a beat digger hovering over a pile of records with a sampler.ย The result is somethingย that is both familiar and other worldly plus rugged and elegant.ย Enjoy the music and stay tuned for what Eye Traveler delivers next.
