Today’s Throwback Thursday we present to you Rockie Fresh’s Driving 88 project. The 16 track mixtape ultimately led to Rockie signing with MMG after Rick Ross heard the mixtape and liked what he heard. I don’t blame Ross for signing Rockie, even though I feel like he may have been better off somewhere else, but hey he got a deal and he deserved it. I didn’t know who Rockie Fresh was before this project, and after one listen I was hooked. The Chicago MC shows off his lyrical ability with features from King Louie, Phil Ade, Rebecca Jordan, and his good friend Casey Veggies. Very solid tape that is still in rotation to this day after being released in 2012. Checkout the mixtape below and leave some feedback.
