Beeisthefuture isn’t new to releasing great quality music, but what he isn’t used to is showing just how vulnerable he can be through audio. Bee let’s out his inner “battle cry” as he details some trials and tribulations that he’s gone through for some years now from New Orleans to Los Angeles. The artist proves that sometimes even the king of the jungle goes through ups and downs, a rollercoaster of emotions, thus letting out The Lion Cry.

The self produced album comes in the form of 10 tracks with the previously released single “Ghost” spear heading the way for the project. Backed by a strong intro titled “The Healing Process” that serves as the back bone of the album, the track begins with Bee saying “I’ve been scared of judgment for a long time/I just ain’t admit it cause of my pride/in the house all day ain’t stepped outside/overthinking games in my head it’s overtime” later continuing with “my unborn gonna eat and never gonna see days I’ve seen/I was crying in the bathroom for the days I ain’t eat/and if momma knew the full she would most likely scream”. A few tracks down the road Bee finds himself reflecting on his move to LA on track 6, titled “Living In The Dark“. The artist states “What you know about that air BnB life/booking one week at a time/money real tight/pushing for a deal at the Roc what it feel like/how the fxck we gonna eat dawg/this shii real life/I scrape some you scrape some/we fight for our dreams but I’m starting to really lose sight/why the fxck am I here if I can’t feed myself”. Even through those tough times the New Orleans native stays on the positive side of things, thinking his life would be perfect once he touched down in the city of angels, although it wasn’t, he goes on to say in the track that the move was still worth it. You can say that a lion rose out of that dirt, dust and mud he found himself in, and at the end of the day that exact same lion was stronger and wiser with another win in his column.

“I would say this album has the most growth and self reflection. I put my ego to the side for some of these records knowing that I’m exposing the raw reality of what my life was like the past 4 years. There’s things on the album I didn’t talk about during those times because I was too deep in those situations to talk about it” says Bee when asked how this project is different from previous releases. The Lion Cry showcases the most authentic version of Beeisthefuture, taking three years to complete with plenty of changes made during the creative process. “The album went through many changes, it was all apart of the process. I made a lot of music and got a lot of stuff off my chest emotionally. It was sort of a cleansing in a way” the artist added while speaking on his first album release since his self titled Beeisthefuture record released back in 2021.

With three features found on the set of sounds from the likes of Curstin Kay, Rummie Abiff and SlickThePoet, Bee delivers yet again a stellar project that is playable from start to finish. Although this time around he doesn’t sugar coat things, he states what he felt and still feels whether it was positive or negative. In his own words he says “The lion is the strongest animal in the jungle. No one knows the lion to be particularly vulnerable around others because he’s seen as the toughest. Everyone has feelings though, and even the toughest of them all have moments of pain”.
