After releasing the teaser to his debut album earlier in the month, The Manuscript EP, Chicago’s MC Vic Mensa has finally released his debut album with The Autobiography. Coming in at 15 solid tracks, the Roc Nation/Save Money artist really brings his autobiography in his first album. With most of the tracks having a really deep meaning behind them, “Heaven On Earth”, “Coffee & Cigarettes”, “Say I Didn’t” and others. Vic also keeps the raw raps in the album with those hard hitting songs like “OMG” featuring Pusha T, “Rage” and “Rollin Like A Stoner”. Its been a long time coming for Vic Mensa, starting off with the his former band, Kids These Days, to finding Save Money with other Chicago artists. Releasing his first solo tape in what seemed like forever in 2013’s INNANETAPE, to last years There’s A lot Going On, this years The Manuscript EP, and finally the gem of them all, his debut album The Autobiography. After listening to the album multiple times, we give it a solid 10 out of 10. Its dope seeing an artist grow through the years from back when I was in high school to being a college graduate, feeling like Ive seen Vic Mensa evolve to the artist he is now. Great work from Vic, the Roc is still a live.
