Throwback Thursday: Golden Army (Mixtape) By Vinny Cha$e & Kid Art

Let’s throw it back to the year 2012 where tons of upcoming artists were creating their own waves and building their brands from the ground up. Two of those artists, who I am very happy to have found while surfing on the web, was New York natives Vinny Cha$e and Kid Art. The swag God and Cheers Club head honcho released his collaborative mixtape with Kid Art titled Golden Army in the fall of 2012 and continued to push the collective towards the top of the mountain of independent artists. So much so that Vinny Cha$e was being offered deals from major labels like Epic Records, who he eventually signed to, but also from the likes of Diddy and Bad Boy Records.

Golden Army gave fans 18 tracks with three of those being skits, and brought bangers to iPod’s and radios everywhere. Songs like “Harlem Roses”, “Rolling My Trees” and “Biggie & Jordans” were major standouts from the tape, but like any good professional sports team, you need support placed around your heavy hitters. Golden Army did just that as Vinny Cha$e and fellow collaborators Kid Art and Cartier made sure that the mixtape was going to be solid from start to finish, setting themselves up for even more success after the project. The majority of the production came from Kid Art and Audio Dope with Zeff, Zukhan, Neenyo, MegaMinds and Tek Beatz also getting their credits on Golden Army.

Cheers Club was a 1 of 1 collective that you can say were ahead of their time in terms of what they were doing in the early 2010’s. From their rhymes, production, clothing line, videography and more, Cheers Club was out to get what they deserved and they did. You can still find Vinny Cha$e dropping new music from time to time while Kid Art has been doing his thing behind the camera lens, directing music videos for many of your favorite artists. Check the credits.

I find myself coming back to not only Golden Army but the rest of the collaborative releases from V. Cha$e and Kid Art along with their solo releases. Stream the heavy hitting mixtape Golden Army below and tap in with the rest of the Cheers Club projects that are still floating around the world wide web. Be Known & Cheers!
